Chicago is as picky about hot dogs as New York is about pizza! You might have tried hot dogs from different outlets but if you haven't had the Chicago style hot dog, you a missing a big-time taste! Considered to be the world best hot dog that everyone is craving for. The toppings aren't just specific, but the order they go on is important too.

Typically, a Chicago Hot Dog is made up of a steamed all-beef hot dog that is topped with yellow mustard, relish, fresh onions, tomato wedges, pickle spear or slice, sport peppers and a dash of celery salt all served in a poppy seed bun.

A mouthwatering and glorious taste in every bite you take. The odd, yet harmonious symphony of flavors that you only usually get to experience fully while visiting the Chicago area now you can enjoy it at your home location. You don't have to wait until you visit Chicago to have a bite on this tasteful hot dog as you can learn how to prepare it at the comfort of your kitchen. INGREDIENTS

  • Hot dog buns
  • Melted butter
  • Poppy seeds
  • Hot dogs
  • Yellow mustard
  • Pickle relish
  • White onion, finely chopped
  • Tomato, sliced into half moons
  • Pickle spears
  • Sport peppers
  • Celery salt

 

DIRECTIONS

Grill the hot dogs first and make sure they're cooked all the way through

Chop the onion; wash and slice the tomatoes

Open up the buns. Place a dill pickle spear on one side and 2 to 3 tomato wedges on the other side. Then place the hot dog in the middle between the tomato slices and the pickle spear

Add a spoonful of pickle relish along the top of the hot dog on one side, and give a squirt of yellow mustard along the top of the hot dog on the other side

And for the finishing touch… Add pieces of pepperoncini (or sport peppers) and a small handful of chopped onion on top, and sprinkle with a dash of celery salt
